How Do You Volunteer For A Medical Marijuana Study?
November 11, 2012 in Daily Bulletin
Two American states have legalized marijuana, even though the Federal Government still considers it to be an illegal drug. Both sides use various studies to back their arguments which led Brian Palmer to answer…how do you participate in a medical marijuana study – thus getting free weed?
- Scientists running the studies recruit participants online and in ads. All one has to do is call them to volunteer.
- However you’re not guaranteed to be given marijuana. Most studies have a control group that are given a placebo, thus robbing you of your high.
- Not all the studies are fun. One tests your pain threshold which involves the researchers getting you high and then…causing you pain to see how you cope.
Read more about the criteria you’ll have to pass, and the types of studies that take place over here.

Clear up I just had a bday. I’m 27
I’m a 26 year female that has been legally blind since the age of 5. I have blinding headaches, I have to wear my glasses everyday all day even though it only helps about 50% of my vision. My mine Optical Nerves isn’t formed and my doctor as a child told my mother I would be blind by the age 30 years old. Do to my own study of I’m 27 now and not blind. I recently seen my eye doctor and she replied, my vision is a surprising and unusual repairing state. More study should be done and I would like to help.
Has anyone done an informal but responsible and disciplined study on themselves on cannabis’ effects on Blood Pressure ? Preferably, this would be done on someone over 50 years of age with pre hypertensive BP levels greet than 150/90. You would think there would be clinical trials to prove or disprove whether cannabis is helpful or not. Guess we have to take matters and meds into our own hands ! Please share, RT and post results.

In 2007 I fell 17 ft and the tibia bone in my left leg was splintered in a unusual way. I spent the last 6 years coping with surgery to relieve pain and nothing is helping I’ve the last year going through withdrawal and pain I’ve spent everything I got from my settlement on my spinal stimulator surgery which cost over 100,000.00 dollars if cancer patients get relief from marijuana I know it will help. please consider me for this study. My x-rays are at Fair oaks hospital.
Good luck with joining a study, but in the meantime, just start your own research program! Yes, marijuana is excellent in tackling many types of pain and I would expect it to work as well for you as it does for most people. Just get out there and try it! The Silk Road is gone, but there are still places on the deepnet where you can buy online, if you don’t know where to get any in your area.
